During the lab section of this lesson (below), students predicted and then analyzed the colors produced by combining 2 colors on a color wheel. The other students were working on programming a Lego Mindstorms robot. On the next day, the groups switched. |
Day 1
This is the first day of a unit on the electromagnetic spectrum. In the lesson we covered how photons of light are "released", then reviewed how these photons vibrate at different frequencies that correspond to different levels on the electromagnetic spectrum. |
In the first part of the lesson, students comment on slides discussed by the teacher (Click the Google Drive button on the presentation to access the comments). Later, they complete an interactive to practice measuring wavelengths. Finally, we read, discuss, and take some notes on the frequencies within the electromagnetic spectrum.
